SOCA Street & Parking Striping Rescheduled for Wed., 4/08

Dear SOCA Residents,

Please be aware that due to the high prediction of rain on the dates of Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd , we have rescheduled the striping of SOCA streets and parking areas to the following dates and times: the morning and afternoon of Wednesday, April 8, 2020 (rain date set for Thursday, April 9, 2020). The following areas will be worked on: Dried Earth Blvd (parking lanes and center striping), gate markings (at Guardhouse), Clubhouse parking lot and new crosswalks at the following locations: 1) from clubhouse across Endless Ocean Way,  2) across Dried Earth at Vast Rose (where new curb cut was created), 3) across Dried Earth, just before circle leading to Kendall 2 and Kendall 3 (Ovation).

Please note the following:

  • Drivers will be redirected to one side of the street near the Entrance Gate while Dried Earth Blvd is being worked on.

  • There will be NO parking allowed at the Clubhouse until the paint has dried. An orange cone will be placed at the entrance of the Clubhouse parking to prevent parking in this area until approximately one hour after the paint has dried.

  • ALL vehicles parked on Dried Earth Blvd will need to be moved before or by 5:00AM on Wednesday, 04/08/20 (rain date 5:00AM on Thursday, 04/09/20), including those parked in handicapped parking spaces. There will be no handicapped parking during this time.

We ask that you please be extra careful and more mindful of your surroundings on this day when driving through the community. We appreciate your patience and cooperation regarding this matter.

Clubhouse CLOSED Until Further Notice

Subject: Closing the SO Clubhouse due to Coronavirus

Snowden Overlook Residents:

We regret to inform you that the clubhouse, including the gym is being closed today. Please do not try to enter the clubhouse.

The number of cases of coronavirus in Maryland continues to rise, and the first cases have now been reported in Howard County. The Governor has required restaurants, bars and gyms to close. More generally, the recommendations from CDC concerning gatherings of people were recently modified to limit them to 50 people for at least the next eight weeks. (This recommendation is for all persons, and does not reflect additional concerns about persons of advancing age or poor health.) As a result, the clubhouse will be closed to all use by residents or guests, starting immediately. In the near term, this means, among other things, that the Coffee with Carol scheduled for March 18, and the “Sip and Bits” scheduled for March 26 have been canceled. Any payments made for the latter will be returned.

The clubhouse staff may begin working from home at times. Calls to the office for information will continue to be answered to the extent possible.
